Happy New Year!

In September of last year I was honoured to be the MC at Scott and Kathleen's wedding. Here is a one of my favourite photos I took before I getting too drunk that night. Our favourite wedding photographer Todd is taking the formal photo.

Best wishes to you in the coming year and I hope you find the happiness that Scotty and Kathleen have found in each other!

Mullet?

Here is a shot of Tai with Uncle James. He lives up north and is excited about the coming new year. He actually thinks that it's going to be 1979 in a couple of days...

Above is another photo of Uncle James just before going out to a wedding. He's in his sunday best!

Ahhhh - Summer

I'm back.... Finally.

Here is Dianna with Tai at the end of the summer.

I think Tai misses summer already.

I wish I could fly...

Here is a photo of a diver that I took back in highschool. This was a difficult photo to take due to the light directly behind her. Patricia (the diver) is diving from the 3 meter board at Centennial Pool in Scarborough. Looks like she is flying... Nikon FM2 - Tmax3200.

So fathers, be good to your daughters

This picture makes me smile... sappy I know. OK...OK, much to my dismay, I like the John Mayer song (but don't tell anybody). This is Uncle Jamie and his daughter Maddy spending some quality time together. Canon G2...

The Grand Canyon

Here is a pretty big hole in the ground. All carved out by a little river. Took this on my cross country trek. The canyon was amazing, only wish I had more time and someone to share it with.
Had to setup the camera and then run like hell to get in the picture. Taken with my Nikon FM2 with a 24mm...

Joshua Tree

You know that road trip I took a couple of years back? Well this is another photo from that trip. This was taken in Joshua Tree National Park in California (click here or here). This is the same place that inspired U2's album by the same name. If you ever have a chance, GO... You'll love it.
Shot on film with my Nikon FM2.

Distillery District

No time today to post. Here is a shot from downtown Toronto. Not original but I like the richness of the black and white. Shot with my Canon G2...

California here I come

Did a road trip a couple of year back to California. Here is a shot that I took in Crescent City, California. I love this shot. I'd rather be surfing...

The Scottish Highlands

Here is a picture of Dave and Anne from at 6 years ago when the got married up north (northern Ontario) on a beach. They were married on Sept 18, 1999 (I think). Happy belated anniversary you guys!

This is one of my favorite photos...They pulled away from the beach in a canoe. What could be more Canadian than that?

Frame

Here is a shot that I am pretty happy with. It's from July 21, 2004. I like the way the mirror frames Tai's face and I think the Black and White works pretty well...

What do you think?

I took a boring photo and changed it in Photoshop. Not quite Sepia but close... more gold. I think it make the it a little more interesting.

We want to be famous...

As promised yesterday, this is a photo of Marlo Taylor, the other organizer of the race I ran on Saturday. These are the diabolical women who made me run what might as well have been the Toronto Marathon.

Look at them, remember their faces and never, ever let them talk you into spending a leisurely Saturday enjoying the sunshine while running your ass off to find a bench in the middle of Edwards' Gardens.
And I swear, I looked at the TTC map and it said that the subway ran directly through the Park. Directly from Sheppard Ave to Lawrence Ave and back up to Sheppard. A straight line....yes, a straight line...

Reality star/producer hopefuls Marlo Taylor and Jo-Anne Liburd show off their victory sign after another "amazing race" as they start to plan for the one in 2006.

The Next Bruckheimer???

This is an old photo of one of the organizers of the race that I ran on the weekend. She's on the right and as stated before, her name is Jo-Anne Liburd. Hopefully Google will pick this up (eventually) and you can then Google her name and this post will come up... I don't have a photo of Marlo (the other organizer) yet but I'll get one and post it tomorrow! Great job once again and I'm really looking forward to next years race!!! Could they be the next Bruckheimer and Burnett? Stay tuned...

About this photo: It's a picture of Carm and Jo in my room at Western (go Mustangs!!!) They are patiently waiting the return of my roommate for some... well, geography lessons with all the maps posted on the walls. Notice Jo's shoe... Even with a hole in the sole she is still smiling. This photo must be about 15 years old.

Another interesting fact, Ms. Liburd used to live in the same building as Carol Pope from the T.O based band, Rough Trade. Ok, maybe not so interesting.... sorry

Are you talking to me?

Here is a photo of Tai and Robert DeNiro. I think that Tai looks exactly like him, don't you?

By the way, Tai is on the left.

Holy crap I've got runner's blogk

Ran an Urban Adventure Race (like the amazing race but all in the same city) today setup by my old friend Jo-anne and her best friend Marlo. The time and planning that went into this race was just simply amazing... here is a shot of one of the envelops that was used.
They had the 11 teams running all around Toronto. We aligned ourselves with Di and her co-worker Jen (who claimed she didn't run but if that wasn't running, then I'm not apparently not walking fast enough). We came in 6th and 7th. Pretty good job in my opinon...This is Jen the "Non-runner" and Di.

Lisa, trooper that she is, had a nasty blister about an hour into it but continued to run without any complaints - ouch.

This is her waiting for "Uncle Jamie" to fix her up.

As for me, I've got runners blogk - there is that wit showing through once again. I'll post more tomorrow.
GREAT JOB JO and MARLO!!!! - I can't wait until next year

writer's blogk

My friend at http://www.loulou2.blogspot.com/ recommended that I start my own blog rather than bugging her to update hers... So here goes...

Ummm.... Ahhh..... I got writer's blogk...

Isn't that witty?

I'll just post this photo because it's easier.

This is my son Tai holding what he calls "Uncle Jamie" and looking out the window of the car, wishing he were free....
